About WeQual

WeQual's mission is to make businesses more inclusive by identifying exceptional women executives and address the gender imbalance across the world's Executive Committees.

About Katie

Katie Litchfield, founder and CEO of WeQual Awards, devised the new platform which call for women senior executives to build their case as to why they are deserving to be appointed to the Executive Committee.

Having world alongside FTSE senior leaders in the UK throughout her 18-year career in the media. Katie has witnessed first hand the challenges companies face in developing people into senior roles. In particular, she was struck by the size of the gap between the target number of women in leading firms and the current figure.

WeQual is Katie's vision to redress this.

Entry WeQual_Logo_LocationArtboard 4

Women who report into their Executive Committee in the S&P 500 Index. Executive Committee members are encouraged to nominate their direct reports.

To remove any bias during the scoring process, 24 finalists will be selected through a blind assessment procedure developed by John Amaechi, , Organisation Psychologist, Chartered Scientist, CEO of APS & Chair of the WeQual Judges, removing their name and company from all entries.

Each finalist will have a face-to-face 30-minute interview with an Executive Committee Judge.

Objective Questions

The blind assessment derived from a research-based meta-analysis of the factors and the six characteristics that mark leaders as different from non-leaders, as first used by Kirkpatrick and Locke (1991).

The WeQual Awards categories are mapped against eight roles on the Executive Committee, identifying women who report into their executive committee working in the following areas.

The 10 assessment questions are derived from a research-based meta-analysis of the factors and characteristics that mark leaders as different from non-leaders (Kirkpatrick and Locke, 1991). Importantly, these six characteristics lack much of the gendered and Anglo-American layers that make it harder for women and other minorities to appear as leaders with their own tone and style;

  • Drive
  • Leadership
  • Integrity
  • Self-Confidence
  • Cognitive Ability
  • Knowledge of Business

All entries will be treated with the strictest confidence.
